Fmoc-Thr(tBu)-OH; Fmoc-O-tert-butyl-L-threonine 71989-35-0 is the threonine derivative used most often in solid phase peptide synthesis utilizing Fmoc protocols. The t-butyl protecting group on the side chain is removed when the product peptide is cleaved from Wang resin or Rink amide resin. The t-butyl group of Fmoc-Thr(tBu)-OH is not removed under the mild conditions used to cleave peptides from 2-chlorotrityl resin. The t-butyl group can be later removed using TFA with water and scavengers.
